In memory of Cuban audiovisual figures who passed away in 2023

Havana, Dec 30(RHC) The Cuban Audiovisual Documentation Centre in Camagüey and the Cuban Audiovisual Digital Encyclopaedia (Endac) pay tribute to some of the figures linked to the Cuban audiovisual industry who passed away in 2023.

On its Facebook profile, Cubacine shared the notebook prepared by Endac with a photographic collage and a list of the deceased in chronological order, which Prensa Latina reproduces below:

January 11: Ramón Pérez Peláez (member of the Cuban Film Press Association).

February 6: Julio Matilla (painter, art director)

18 February: Rolando Pérez Betancourt (film critic)

27 February: Paquita Armas Fonseca (journalist)

3 March: Julio Batista (narrator of Noticiero Icaic Latinoamericano)

5 March: Héctor Ochoa (cameraman)

23 March: Rubén Breña (actor)

12 April: Eduardo Heras León (scriptwriter)

22nd April: Mario García Joya (director of photography)

21 May: Antón Arrufat (narrator and playwright)

21st May: León Ichaso (film director)

19 June: Ana López (academic)

12 September: Raúl Taladrid (founder of Icaic)

18 September: Jorge Oliver (comic strip artist)
