Havana, July 16 (RHC) – The Cuban National Baseball team has one more shot of getting a win against Nicaragua in the four exhibition game series as part of the preparation for the Pan-Am games in Lima, Peru.

After tying the first match, Cuba lost twice in row, with a poor offensive performance scoring  5 runs in 27 innings,  with only 15 hits, and no Home-Runs.

According to National team masnager, Rey Vicente Anglada, the idea of these matches is to rotate the players and to evaluate their performances in order to build the best possible team to compete in Lima.

Baseball fans in Cuba though are restless because they have seen their team lose 13 games during the preparation matches they have played, and now Anglada’s promises of winning the gold medal in Lima seem too far from believable.

We have great baseball players, and they perform at their highest in every league they play, but there must be something wrong with our approach to modern baseball, since our international results are worst every time.
