Havana, (RHC) - The first group of players of the Matanzas Crocodiles that will represent Cuba in a series of exhibition matches against some Nicaraguan teams, has already arrived in Managua, headed by their manager, Armando Ferrer.

The strategist, who led the the squad of the western Cuban province to the National Series title after 29 years, told Prensa Latina after his arrival at the Augusto César Sandino International Airport, that they come with the aim of 'providing a good show like both peoples deserve. '

"I have always admired Nicaraguan baseball, it has always had a lot of potential, and this series will have great matches, that will help them for the upcoming tournaments, and us in the face of the next National Series," he said.

For the first time in the last seven years the whole champion of the main baseball tournament in Cuba was unable to attend the Caribbean Series, but Ferrer considered that this will be a 'bilateral Caribbean Series between two peoples that constitute a single nation'.
The rest of the Matanzas squad arrived in the afternoon and evening of last Thursday and on Friday they planned a section of photos and the recognition of the Dennis Martínez national stadium, before giving way to the first confrontation against the national team of Nicaragua , starting at 6:00 p.m. local time.
