Steph Curry sets record for most three-pointers in the NBA

Havana, December 15 (RHC)-- Point guard Stephen Curry set a new record for most three-pointers made in the National Basketball Association (NBA), surpassing Ray Allen's 2,973.

The imposing Madison Square Garden in New York surrendered to the feat of "Little Chief" Curry, and Allen himself congratulated him with a hug, while Reggie Miller, third on the list, filmed him from the side, smiling.

When the Golden State Warriors star sank his 2,974th career three-pointer, his team called a timeout to celebrate the milestone, and to encourage a hug between the record-holder and his father, former player Dell Curry.

Twice voted NBA Most Valuable Player, "Steph" achieved his feat in 789 games, 511 fewer than Allen, and now has 152 consecutive games scoring at least one three-pointer, just five shy of his own mark (157).

Curry, Allen and Miller were all voted among the top 75 players in NBA history at the beginning of the season, thanks mainly to their scoring versatility and long-range shooting.

Curry also has in his favor that he led a dynasty with the Warriors in the second half of the past decade, and his increasingly long-range shooting changed the game and the way teams approach their offense.
