Perez Pardo meets with the press and provides details about the Elite League
Havana, October 11 (RHC)-- This afternoon, the President of the Cuban Baseball Federation (FCB), Juan Reinaldo Perez Pardo, offered a press conference at the Latin American Stadium in this capital, with the presence of several national media.
At the meeting, the executive publicly apologized for the erroneous information that was previously released on logistical issues for the Elite League: "I wish to apologize to you and to all the people, we should have played with the hand and be certain of the information we were providing on a load to which we are following up."
Precisely, regarding the sports equipment supplied by the company Teammate, the executive said that most of the packages with the implements are on the island, 141 of them are in a review process, 59 were in Cuba previously, and the same number is pending to arrive in the largest of the Antilles.
As for the league, the starting date of the tournament is still pending, waiting for the shipment to be completed. Perez Pardo explained that, although the intention is to maintain the original calendar, a reduction of games is not discarded, since from the Elite League will come out the team that will represent us in the next Caribbean Series.
Foreign contracted players may play in the competition, as long as they are released before the post season.
All players playing outside the country are eligible, even those contracted independently, as long as they do not have debts due to unfulfilled contracts with the FCB.
