Havana, November 28 (RHC) - Cuban volleyball players Marlon Yant and Roamy Alonso had an outstanding performance in the ninth round of the Italian Super League volleyball league, in which Polish Cuban nationalized Wilfredo Leon also shined.
With an individual block in the final point, Yant sealed the victory of the reigning champion Lube Civitanova 3-2 against Piacenza, which had among its references the center Roamy Alonso (14 points and a remarkable effectiveness of 81 percent in the attack).
With 13 points, Yant was one of the best scorers of his team, seconding the star Ivan Zaytsev, top scorer of the match with 21.
In another game, the leader Perugia overcame Cisterna 3-1, with 23 points from star player Wilfredo León and 21 from Kamil Rychlicky. Neither Jesus Herrera nor Julio Cesar Cardenas lined up for Perugia.
Perugia, with one game in hand, leads with 30 points, followed by Modena (17), Trentino (16), Verona, Latina, Milan and reigning champions Lube Civitanova (14) and Piacenza (13).
