Soccer legends to experience their own World Cup in Qatar

Doha, December 12 (PL) - Nearly 100 unforgettable soccer legends will star in the FIFA Legends Cup at the Khalifa International Tennis-Squash Complex on Thursday and Friday, December 15 and 16th, organizers said.

The event will feature eight teams and 18 matches in the run-up to the grand finale of the discipline's 22nd World Cup, scheduled to take place at Lusail Stadium, which will host two of the current four survivors: Argentina, Croatia, Morocco and France, the reigning kings of the competition.

The all-star event will kick off on Thursday at 14:00 local time with a 12-match line-up, where some of the best players in the men's and women's game will join forces to entertain fans on a modified center court at the tennis complex.

For the second time in the middle of the ecumenical program on Arabian soil, Qatar 2022 will bring together great exponents of the "most universal", as last November 18 they gave life to the meeting between the Arab Legends and the World Legends at the Al Zumama Park.

On that day, former players such as Javier Zanetti, Youri Djorkaeff, Iván Zamorano, Hristo Stoitchkov. Cafu, Diego Lugano, John Terry, Jens Lehmann, Juan Pablo Sorin, Roger Milla, Sabri Lamouchi and Sulley Muntari.

The list did not stop there and the Ballon d'Or and Liberian President George Weah himself was present on the synthetic pitch. More stars? Kaka could not miss out, nor could Esteban Cambiasso, Wesley Sneijder, Dario Simic and Houssine Kharja.

Some, such as Ronaldo Nazario and Didier Drogba, preferred to stay away from the pitch. All of them, and more, will make up the cast of the FIFA Legends Cup, which will arrive shortly after the teams that will compete for the coveted Jules Rimet Trophy on Sunday, December 18.
