Havana, September 12 (JIT)-- The first international baseball tryout in Cuba began this Monday at the Latin American Stadium.

Around 80 players will be observed by experts from the Japanese, Dominican, South Korean, Ecuadorian and World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) leagues.

Among the franchises present will be the Japanese Softbank Falcons, Yomiuri Giants and Seibu Lions, as well as the Korean Lotte Giants.

Testing will continue this Tuesday and Wednesday morning. On that last day, the national pre-selection will face the Granma team that will participate in the presentation of the WBSC Champions League. That duel will also start at 3:00 p.m. and fans will be allowed to enter.

The Cuban Baseball Federation has registered in the tryout players from the national pre-selection, as well as others from the U-23 and U-18 categories.
