Havana, October 2 (JIT) - Two-time Olympic champion Roniel Iglesias defeated Kazakhstan's Dulat Bekbauov by points and brought Cuban prominence to the Night of Boxing Champions organized in Turkey.

The double Olympic champion took the credit by points in a five-round 67-kilogram bout at the Regnum Carya convention center.

The transmission broadcast by the organizers showed that a well-conducted technical approach and the necessary answers from the physical reserves were the weapons with which the 2009 universal titleholder dominated the current runner-up at that level.

Roniel hit more and better from several angles, supported by hooks and swings enhanced from his left hand, and gave himself a superior closing despite the concern of the injury suffered in the fourth act in his left superciliary arch.

The Pinar del Río native avenged the setback suffered in his previous performance of this type, when he lost 0-5 to Egyptian Zeyad Eashash in an evening held in Abu Dhabi, in mid-December last year.
