Cuban paralympic athlete breaks world record in long jump again

Havana, April 8 (RHC) - Long jumper Robiel Yankiel Sol broke the long jump world record again by winning with a mark of 7.84m at the Parathletics Grand Prix in Xalapa, Mexico.

"We have a World Record. Cuban Parathlete Robiel Yankiel Sol Cervantes achieved a spectacular World record and American record in the "Xalapa 2024 World Para Athletics Grand Prix" with a mark of 7.84m, breaking the previous record of 7.74m in the Long Jump. We congratulate the World Champion and recognize his extraordinary participation!", celebrated on social networks the Mexican Paralympic Committee.

The 21-year-old Cuban, from the T47 category - physical disability in upper limbs - improved by 10 cm his previous record, set in the Parapan American Games last November in Santiago de Chile, when he also won the gold medal.

In the Mexican competition, Cuba won six gold medals.
