Pamplona, Spain, May 9 (PL).- The Cuban cyclist Arlenis Sierra (Movistar) obtained second place in the 2024 Navarra Classic, held with start and finish in this city at a distance of 135 kilometers.

Sierra surpassed the Dutch Shirin van Anrooij (Lidl-Trek) at the same finish line to lead the main peloton of 21 riders, just eight seconds behind the winner, the German Hannah Ludwig (Cofidis), who achieved a time of 3:50.16 hours.

The Polish Dominika Wlodarczyk (UAE), the French Julie Bego (Cofidis), the Italian Elena Pirrone (Roland), the Australian Brodie Chapman (Lidl—Trek), the Italian Alice Arzuffi, the French Cédrine Kerbaol (Ceratizit-WNT) and the Spaniard Iurani Blanco (Laboral Kutxa-Euskadi) completed the list of the top 10.

The Cuban received the support of her teammates to be able to get on the podium, which earned her 150 points and now she has 665 points this season, valid for the world ranking of the International Cycling Union.

From Movistar, the German Liane Lippert stood out, who finished in 23rd position, and the 37-year-old British Claire Steels, located in 26th.

Sierra, 31 years old, is among the top representatives of the Spanish team in each match and is preparing for her third participation in the Olympic Games.
