Havana, May 30 (JIT).- The four Cubans classified for the upcoming Olympic competition will shoot in the Munich 2024 Rifle and Pistol World Cup, in Germany, scheduled between May 31 and June 8 with the presence of 603 shooters from 87 countries.

Leuris Pupo, Jorge Félix Álvarez, Laina Pérez and Lisbet Hernández appear on the registration list published on the website of the international sports federation, and which includes the best exponents on the planet.

In the men's rapid pistol category, the names of the French Clement Bessaguet and Jean Quiquampoix, the Chinese Yuehong Li, the Czechs Matej Rampula and Martin Podhrasky and the locals Florian Peter, Oliver Geis and Enmanuel Muller stand out.

In that same weapon, but for women, the performance of the young South Korean Jiin Yang will be repeated, who has just broken the women's world record for the 25-meter pistol. In the German city, figures such as China's Nan Zhao and Germany's Josefin Eder will once again accompany him in the fight for medals.

Among the riflewomen, the North Americans Alexis Lagan and Alison Marie Weisz, among others, stand out.

France, Kazakhstan, Italy, India, France, the Czech Republic, China and the host nation will present the largest delegations at the fair.

The Munich World Cup represents a new opportunity for Cubans to face high-level rivals, prior to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games that will take place this summer.

According to the planned calendar, the first representatives of the Island at the Paris event will be the girls who will compete in the 10-meter air rifle and 25-meter pistol events.
