Novak Djokovic
Paris, Jul 31 (PL) Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic defeated German Dominik Koepfer 7-5, 6-3 today and reached the quarterfinals of the tennis tournament of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Djokovic had to work harder than expected to overcome his opponent, who hit seven aces and put the Balkan on the ropes on several occasions.
In his next presentation, already in the round of the best eight, the former world number one and first favorite for the Paris title will face the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, eighth seed, who defeated the Argentine Sebastian Baez, 7-5 and 6-1.
It is worth remembering that Djokovic is looking for the only title he is missing in his voluminous list of titles: the Olympic crown (his best performance in summer events dates back to Beijing 2008, when he won the bronze).
