Havana Aug 29 (JIT) - Cuba's Baseball and Softball Federation confirmed that the tryouts scheduled for the next few days will initially cover elimination stages in order to concentrate the country's best prospects.

The note sent to the media, states that the first will be the eastern tryout, to be held in Santiago de Cuba, on September 5 and 6, followed by the central tryout, in Santa Clara, on September 11 and 12.

The document assures that on September 11, Havana will host a single one dedicated to the athletes of that province, who will not be in the western one, scheduled for Matanzas, September 16 and 17.

The message stresses that these days will allow to form a list of approximately 60 players who will be observed by foreign and national specialists on September 28 and 29 at the Latin American Stadium in Havana.

It points out that this will be a concentration conceived to offer options to the most outstanding talents of the country, mainly from the U-18 and U-23 categories, without ruling out some players from the U-15 or over 23.

It adds that this time will coincide with the training of the pre-selection from which the Cuba team will be selected for the Premier 12, which will allow for exhibition games that will be added to the observation possibilities made available to the experts.
