The left-hander Matt Moore has been announced by the manager of Tampa Bay, Kevin Cash, as team opener against Cuba's national team on March 22nd in a friendly match to be held at the Havana's Latinoamericano Stadium.
Moore, 26 years old, is one of 14 pitchers traveling to Havana, which were announced at the roster of 34 players, released by the Tampa mentor.
Rounding out the team are 3 catchers, 10 infielders and 7 outfielders, including Dayron Varona, only Cuban-born player within the visiting squad.
In the information provided by the Tampa directive makes it clear that, although 34 players are traveling to Havana, only 28 of them will be active in the challenge.
In addition to the Cuban Varona, other 4 Latin-american players are listed: Dominicans pitchers Alex Colomé and Enny Romero, Puerto Rican pitcher Xavier Cedeño, and Mexican catcher René Rivera.
