United Nations, September 30 (RHC)--After a week of intense work, the General Assembly of the United Nations is resuming its general debate Monday with the last speakers on behalf of its 193 member states.

More demands for the end of the US blockade against Cuba were conveyed over the weekend by various countries.

The Nicaraguan Foreign Minister, Denis Moncada, not only used the forum to call for an end to the U.S. siege, but also condemned the recent acts of expulsion by the U.S. Government of two Cuban representatives to that multilateral organization.

Meanwhile, Mexico's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marcelo Ebrad, said that his country opposes measures such as the blockade of Cuba or the imposition of sanctions, and advocates that differences can be resolved through dialogue and communication.

For his part, Grenada´s Foreign Minister Peter David considered that the recent unilateral coercive measures against Cuba, such as the reduction of remittances and financial transactions, only serve to weaken Cuba's economic stability and severely affect the socio-economic conditions of its people.

Since 1992,  the UN General Assembly, the majority of the international community, supports the end of the US blockade against Cuba, which has been in force for almost 60 years.
