Caracas, March 7 (RHC-teleSUR) – Member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas (ALBA) have agreed to reactivate a joint fund meant to provide legal advice and financial support to immigrants from ALBA countries living in the United States.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced the decision during the 14th extraordinary ALBA summit, held in Caracas, Venezuela.

Addressing the ALBA Summit, Cuban President Raul Castro criticized U.S. President Donald Trump over his recently approved protectionist measures. President Raúl Castro said: “poverty, migrants and disasters can not be contained within walls.”

Bolivia's President Evo Morales, for his part, highlighted the legacy of former Venezuelan President, the late Hugo Chavez and the importance of expanding ALBA to include more member-states.

President Morales announced that members of the Non-Aligned Movement, as well as the Group of 77 plus China will participate in the World Conference of the Peoples for a World Without Walls, set for the Bolivian capital, La Paz, on June 20th and 21st.
