Santiago de Chile, February 18 (RHC) -- Experts from Chile and Peru on Monday met in Valparaiso, Chile, to make preparations for setting the new maritime border between the two countries, based on the recent verdict of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the Chilean daily El Mercurio reported.

Monday's meeting was held in accordance with the agreements reached at another meeting, which was convened two weeks ago in Santiago de Chile, the country's capital, between the Chilean and Peruvian Foreign and Defense Ministers, for setting the agenda to carry out the ICJ's verdict.

The experts to the current meeting, which will last for two days, are expected to establish three coordinations of points A, B and C, which were mentioned in the boundary map delivered by the ICJ on January 27th for the establishment of the new maritime border, said the newspaper report.

According to the schedule, the field work for marking the new border will begin on February 24th and last for 10 days.
