Washington, April 4 (RHC)-- U.S. President Donald Trump has announced his administration would be taking "strong action" later Wednesday on immigration.

After making the announcement on Twitter, Trump added that U.S. border laws are very weak while those of Mexico and Canada are very strong and he urged Congress to change " these Obama and other laws now."

According to Trump, the Democrats stand in the way because “they want people to pour into our country unchecked”.

During a luncheon in the White House with the leaders of Baltic states on Tuesday, he said he has asked Secretary of Defense, James Mattis, to get the military involved in his current efforts.

'We cannot allow people to enter the country illegally, disappear and never appear in court,' Trump added.

Since last week, the US president has been twitting continuously about the arrival of undocumented people.

Local media warn that the president faces great pressure from its base to ensure a victory in the matter, after Congress failed to include in its recently approved budget for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2018 a request of 25 billion dollars to build the wall.

In his renewed campaign on this matter, Trump demanded the Senate to resort to the nuclear option and pass laws with a simple majority of 51 votes -of the 100 that has the Upper House-, instead of the 60 currently needed.
