Caracas, March 1 (RHC) -– Meanwhile, the death toll from almost three weeks of violence in Venezuela has risen to 17. Venezuelan Attorney General Luisa Ortega said on Friday that the death toll from the street violence organized by fascist opposition groups has injured more than 260 others.
Ortega also said her office was investigating 27 cases of human rights violations as well as the death of a young man who was cleaning a street in Carabobo state one day earlier. The latter joins a series of attacks against public servants and volunteers, who have joined forces in impressive operations of public response to the chaos created by the fascist violence.
Venezuela has witnessed violent riots since February 12th, when extremist opposition groups took to the streets of Caracas and other cities to create an environment of violence and destabilization that helps their ultimate goal of a presidential coup.
