Caracas, March 18 (RHC) The Venezuelan National Assembly (Parliament) called its first session in March with public attention focusing on the agenda at the center of debates by the lawmakers.
The call to the session was made according to legislative rules, though the agenda for the day was not mentioned, Prensa Latina news agency reported.
Analysts say that Tuesday´s session could address the Truth Commission entitled to launch a probe into the violent acts that occurred last month in the country, which were orchestrated by ultra-right groups.
Last weekend, Parliament President Diosdado Cabello described the setting up of the commission as viable, while President Nicolas Maduro stressed the importance of counting on such a mechanism, which can expose the truth about the actions that left considerable number of victims and large material damage. Among the people who died in the violent actions were four members of the Bolivarian National Guard.
Some 28 opposition deputies said they will not vote for the creation to the Truth Commission since they consider it as turning their back on Venezuelans who took to the streets to stage what they called a peaceful demonstration.
