Brazil Restrictions During Soccer World Cup to Affect 800 Flights

Rio de Janeiro, March 20th (PL- RHC ) The Brazilian Association of Airlines said the restrictions to be implemented to the air traffic during the games of the Soccer World Cup will affect 800 flights.

The number represents the 1.2 percent of the total of 67,779 flights during the Cup, scheduled from June 12th to July 13th, as expressed in a communiqué issued by the Association.

Passengers who bought tickets for the affected flights are being contacted by agencies and informed that there will not be additional taxes for changing or cancel their tickets.

The restrictions in the air space in the cities that will host the Cup was announced by the Brazil Air-Space Defense Command as a security measure during the competition.

The measure prohibits commercial flights seven kilometres from the stadiums, which affects airport in eight cities: Río de Janeiro, Cuiba, Belo Horizonte, Fortaleza, Manaos, Recife, Curitiba and Salvador.

The Civil Aviation National Association informed that during the Cup there will be extra flights to guarantee people interested get to their destinies.
