Moscow, March 24 (RHC) Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, travelled to The Hague today leading a delegation to attend the nuclear security summit, where representatives from more than 50 nations and international organizations will gather.

According to official sources, in the context of the forum, with Russia as one of the major nuclear powers, Lavrov will participate in a ministerial parallel meeting of the BRICS Group, also made up by Brazil, India, China and South Africa.

Bilateral talks with U.S Secretary of State John Kerry, presumably on Ukraine, are also expected, in an atmosphere of growing tensions after the accession of Crimea and Sevastopol to Russia, reported the ITAR-TASS agency.

Russian News commented earlier that Russia was not invited to a scheduled meeting today and tomorrow in The Hague for Western partners G7 (Canada, USA, France, Japan, Italy and the UK) on the Ukrainian issue, due to the negative reaction of the West to the unification of Crimea with to the Federation.

Along with unilateral U.S. sanctions and the European Union for the vertical position of Moscow in the Ukrainian problem, London, proposed to exclude Russia from the Group of Eight.
