Caracas, May 26 (RHC)-- The Iranian vessel "Petunia" with fuel and additives, arrived Tuesday in Venezuelan territorial waters, escorted by the patrol boat Yekuana PO13 of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).

The Iranian ships have the mission of supplying gasoline and additives to the South American nation, which is suffering from shortages due to the illegal sanctions imposed by the United States.

A total of five Iranian fuel tankers are supplying Venezuela with gasoline.  The "Faxon" and "Clavel" will soon arrive in Venezuela, transporting 1.53 million barrels of gasoline and alkylate.

The second Iranian vessel "Forest" arrived in Venezuela on Monday, where it is destined to reach the El Palito refinery after crossing the northern zone of Margarita Island.

The other two fuel tankers are expected to arrive in Venezuelan waters between Wednesday, May 27th and Monday, June 1st.  The ships will be escorted by the FANB in response to threats from the United States.
