Caracas, March 29 (RHC)-- The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, denounced this Sunday that the Colombian government led by Iván Duque is behind the incursion of irregular armed groups of that country in Apure state and that they were neutralized by the Bolivarian National Armed Forces.

"We have all the WhatsApp accounts, the conversations, we know all the strategy they coordinate with the Government of Colombia, what they were going to do in Venezuelan territory (...) Colombian intelligence and its Army have communicated with some of those irregular groups and give them missions to come and bring war to Venezuela," denounced the Venezuelan president.

Maduro called on strengthening the civil-military union in Apure State to defend and neutralize irregular groups.  "I ask for all the support to the people of the Venezuelan border to, in union, defend the peace of Venezuela," he added.

"In Venezuela there will be no war.  In Venezuela there will be peace and sovereignty guaranteed by the Bolivarian National Armed Forces.  We are sons of Bolivar, the man of difficulties and we are ready," pointed out President Maduro.

In response to President Duque's accusations, the Venezuelan head of state reiterated that they are trying to manipulate the facts.  "They intend to claim Venezuelan territory to commit their crimes, applying the formula of paramilitarism, of the Colombian armed and terrorist groups."
