Brasilia, May 11 (RHC)-- Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro congratulated the police of Rio de Janeiro for the operation carried out by this repressive police force on May 6th in the Jacarezinho slum, leaving 29 people dead.

On his Twitter account, the fascist ruler of Brazil said: "By treating traffickers who steal, kill and destroy families as victims, the media and the left equate them with ordinary, honest citizens who respect the law and their fellow human beings.  It is a serious offense to the people who for a long time have been hostage of criminality.  Congratulations to the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro!"

The Brazilian president described the 29 people killed in the operation as "criminals" and paid "homage to the Civil Police agent, André Leonardo, who lost his life in combat against the criminals."

According to the judge of the Federal Supreme Court, Edson Fachin, who ordered the Federal Prosecutor's Office to open an investigation against the Civil Police (investigations), he specified that the operation had "indications of arbitrary execution."

For its part, the Ombudsman's Office of Rio de Janeiro denounced that there were executions and manipulation of the crime scene, local media reported.  Likewise, the Black Coalition for Rights denounced "to the world that we live in a country where tomorrow we may be dead, for the fact of being Black."

The Movement described what happened in the chacina in Jacarezinho as "one of the saddest chapters of our tragic trajectory of urban violence."   "The murders were the result of an illegal police operation - since there was already a ban on this type of police action during the pandemic by the Supreme Federal Court (STF)," the collective pointed out.
