Lima, June 2 (RHC)-- Peruvian presidential candidate Pedro Castillo returned Wednesday to the capital city of Lima in his election campaign, after the completion of public events on Tuesday in Cusco and Puno, while in that city, his opponent Keiko Fujimori continues political activity in the run-up to the elections. 

During a rally on Tuesday in the Cusco town of Sicuani, Pedro Castillo condemned feminicide and denied defending sexist positions.  "I reaffirm myself, never again an idle State that does not promote or protect women, and many times ends up shielding feminicides, rapists and corrupt people", expressed the Peru Libre candidate in his Twitter account.

In his speech, Castillo called on people to remain calm during on election day, Sunday.  "Let's not fall into any kind of provocation, into the tripwires they want to put on us", said the Peruvian politician.

For her part, the candidate of the Popular Force party, Keiko Fujimori, attended this Wednesday as part of her campaign in Lima (capital) to a meeting of evangelical women and toured several television stations to publicize her candidacy.

The Peruvian Ministry of the Interior (Mininter) warned on Tuesday that the parties aspiring to the presidency are prohibited from holding campaign closing rallies due to the epidemiological situation caused by Covid-19.
