Panama City, July 18 (RHC)-- The United States Geological Survey (USGS) registered this Saturday a 6.1 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Panama. According to the USGS, the earthquake was registered in the area of Punta Burica, located in the Panamanian province of Chiriqui, the telluric movement was 130 kilometers to the south.
Authorities stated that the earthquake was registered at 20H56 (local time) in the Pacific Ocean and its epicenter had a depth of 9.1 kilometers. On the other hand, the Geosciences Institute of the University of Panama stated that the magnitude of the earthquake was 6.4 and reached a depth of 10 kilometers.
