Port-au-Prince, August 1 (RHC)-- Haitian authorities continue with the investigations to clarify the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse, while Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henry continues his task to promote a national dialogue to restore democratic normality in the Caribbean country.

The spokesperson of the Haitian Police, Marie Michel Verrier, announced the arrest of the fourth policeman allegedly involved in the murder of Moïse last July 7th.  According to the investigation, the arrested officer was identified as William Moïse, who together with Bonny Gregory, Cliffton Hyppolite and Jean Eddy Charles, accompanied the armed commando who took the life of the president in his residence in the capital.

Verrier detailed that other nine officers are in isolation for interrogation, although he did not specify if they are in custody.  He also detailed that so far 14 homes have been searched, among them that of judge Wendelle Coq Thélot, whose arrest has been ordered on the grounds of her participation and armed robbery in connection with the assassination of Moïse, who had previously dismissed her from the Court of Cassation.

In this respect, the Police spokeswoman indicated that a hearing on the Colombians and Haitian-Americans arrested for the assassination made it possible to link the magistrate to the facts.

Regarding the political course of internal negotiations in Haiti, Henry met with representatives of various sectors as part of the national dialogue process.  Among the main topics of discussion was the reestablishment of democratic order and political stability, allowing the holding of free, fair and transparent elections.

To this end, he held meetings with members of the religious and private sectors in the search for a political agreement.
