Luis Camacho summoned to testify about coup d'état in Bolivia

La Paz, October 2 (RHC)-- The Attorney General's Office of the Plurinational State of Bolivia summoned this Friday the governor of Santa Cruz, Luis Fernando Camacho, to testify next October 7th about the events of the coup d'état in November 2019.

The summons was made by Attorney General Juan Lanchipa Ponce, who noted that according to the schedule for receiving statements that was prepared by the Commission of Prosecutors investigating the case called "Coup d'Etat," Luis Fernando Camacho should appear next Thursday morning.

The Prosecutors Commission in the city of La Paz has carried out the investigation of the case, said the high official, who also pointed out that next week the Governor's father, José Luis Camacho, Jorge (Tuto) Quiroga, Samuel Doria Medina and his other collaborators will also be summoned to testify.

Both Fernando Camacho and his father Luis Camacho, are denounced for the alleged crimes of Conspiracy and Destabilization, during the months of October and November 2019, the date of the coup against then President Evo Morales Ayma.

The former commander of the Bolivian Armed Forces, Williams Kalimán and the former commander of the Bolivian Police, Yuri Calderón, were also denounced for crimes of Terrorism, Sedition and Conspiracy.
