Lima, November 19 (RHC)-- Peruvian President Pedro Castillo has called for an end to political confrontation and called for unity, after a new attempt of a motion to destroy him in Parliament, driven by the Peruvian right wing.

"These are times that demand unity and not division. Cooperation and not confrontation. This is the only way we will be able to achieve the great goals we all share", said the head of state.

Regarding the concerns about political stability, the President pointed out that governability is built among all, not only from one side, and "putting the interests of the country first, without obstacles, without obstacles, without obstacles, without insinuations and without breaking the balance of powers."

The Prime Minister of Peru, Mirtha Vásquez, affirmed that the request for Pedro Castillo's dismissal proposed by the Peruvian right wing could "represent an attack against the will of the people and therefore against democracy" in her country.

Vásquez sent an official letter to the president of Congress, María del Carmen Alva, expressing her concern about the impeachment motion proposed by Congresswoman Patricia Chirinos, of the right-wing Avanza País party.

In the text, the head of the Peruvian cabinet, indicated to María del Carmen Alva that she would expect her office to distance itself from this type of attacks against governance.

Leftist legislators affirmed that the request is part of a "coup plan", while representatives of right-wing groups agreed with the initiative.

Beyond these individual positions, the majority of benches expressed their surprise at the proposal and agreed that such a measure could only generate more political and economic instability in their country.
