The Venezuelan government demanded Canada to put an immediate end to its illegal coercive measures and its support to corrupt individuals who defalcate the State.

Caracas, November 25 (RHC)-- Venezuela has categorically rejected the interfering statements of the Government of Canada, in relation to the regional and municipal elections of last Sunday, when Venezuelans went out to exercise their right to vote.

"It is regrettable that, in the absence of a foreign policy of its own and to meet the expectations of the United States, the government of Canada resorts to the disqualification of an electoral process, widely validated by more than 300 international observers," said a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry.

The text points out that Canada, despite being the only country that prevented Venezuelan voters in its territory from voting in the Venezuelan embassy and consulates in the 2018 elections, currently question the context of the recent elections.

"Canada speaks about the economy and human rights, at the same time that it applauds, supports and promotes illegal coercive measures, against the entire Venezuelan people and that constitute crimes against humanity," the statement emphasizes.

For these reasons, the Venezuelan Government demands Canada "the immediate end of its illegal coercive measures and the cessation of its political and material support to corrupt individuals who promote the embezzlement of assets belonging to the Venezuelan State."
