Caracas, January 7 (RHC)-- The electric system in Barinas, Venezuelan state -- which repeats the elections for governor on Sunday -- suffered an attack on Friday, perpetrated by the extreme right.

The Minister of Electric Energy, Néstor Reverol, revealed in a series of messages published on his Twitter social network account that the infrastructure of the electric service in Barinas registered a new attack.

Reverol, who is also Vice-President of the Public Works and Services Sector, affirmed that "the extreme right wing and its destabilizing plans of sabotage through the electric war, intend to hinder the electoral process in the state of Barinas and the peace of its people."

The official stressed, however, that "thanks to the commitment of our Corpoelec (the National Electric Corporation) workforce, we have once again recovered 100 percent of the service."  He pointed out that together with the State security agencies and the Shock Force of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) they are already carrying out tasks to find those responsible for the new attack against the country's electric system.

"We have advanced the corresponding investigations to find those responsible for this vile act", said the Venezuelan minister.  Reverol remarked that the authorities will remain alert to any threat that disturbs the National Electric System (SEN).

The citizens of the state of Barinas will go to the polls this coming Sunday to renew their governor.
These elections are part of the regional and municipal elections held on November 21 and the National Electoral Council (CNE) has already informed that the deployment of material and technological equipment has been carried out in that state.
