Los Angeles, June 10 (RHC)-- Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro stressed Friday that the voice of the rebel peoples of the countries that were excluded from the Summit of the Americas has been heard in the streets of Los Angeles, despite the attempt to silence it.

"There has been our voice, the voice of the rebel peoples of Our America -- of Cuba, of Nicaragua, of Venezuela" -- that has been heard.

He also indicated that they tried to prohibit the march of the social movements "because they were afraid of the color and strength of our voice, but they have not been able to stop it."

The Bolivarian leader thanked the support of those who spoke out in rejection of the exclusion of his country and conveyed their solidarity with the Venezuelan people.

"Here we are planted in the construction of a different world, a multipolar, multicentric world, a world based on dialogue and respect, in the equal treatment of States, peoples, governments, a world based on profound dialogue," he added.

President Maduro also sent greetings to all those who took part in the Summit, asserting that the peoples of the different countries of the region "are choosing their own path."

"That is why I want to thank you from the Bolivarian Revolution, from the most genuine spirit of love of the Venezuelan people, for all the support for the Peoples' Summit," he said.

Regarding U.S. hostility and the resistance of Latin American peoples, the head of state recalled that Venezuelans have managed to move forward despite coercive measures and other actions carried out to generate destabilization.

"Venezuela has resisted, is advancing and is recovering.  It is on its feet, victorious.  Overcoming threats, aggressions, unilateral sanctions, coercive measures and financial persecution."
