Beijing, August 26 (RHC)--China completed Friday a significant test of a suborbital space plane that is also reusable, thus advancing the development of a technology focused on covering long-distance flights in a very short time.

The state-run Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation reported that the spacecraft lifted off "vertically" from the Jiuquan (northwest) satellite launch center after inspection and maintenance.

It then completed the suborbital flight according to established procedure and landed "stably and horizontally" at an airport in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region (north).

China unveiled the plane in July 2021, and it combines space and traditional aviation technology. Since then, it has been subjected to multiple evaluations and maintenance operations.

Suborbital transport is one of the objectives of different space agencies worldwide, and the X-37 of the U.S. Boeing has accumulated several completed missions since it took off for the first time in 2010
