Buenos Aires, January 16 (RHC)-- The leader of the organization of indigenous peoples of Argentina Tupac Amaru, Milagro Sala, ratified this Monday, on the occasion of a new anniversary of her detention, that this is an arbitrary imprisonment and part of what she called a "lawfare laboratory."

Sala continues to be under house arrest, receiving expressions of support and solidarity from organizations and personalities who denounce what they call the persecutory actions she is suffering from the provincial government of Jujuy, headed by Gerardo Morales.

According to declarations to a local radio station, Sala says that she feels that "she is doing badly.  I feel alone, that they have forgotten about me.  Before, everyone took pictures with the political prisoners, today it is as if they were avoiding us.  At some point it felt like maybe they don't believe that we want to be accountable for what they accuse us of. They make you feel guilty.

Human rights organizations have demanded President Fernandez a pardon for Sala, which he has denied on the grounds that it is a provincial court ruling that he cannot reverse.

At the end of last week, his family doctor, Jorge Rachid, denounced that Sala presents a picture of "deep thrombosis in the left lower limb, which had already been operated on previously".

According to the doctor, in the public hospital of Jujuy she receives mistreatment and violence every time she has been treated, for which reason she has requested to be transferred to a center in Buenos Aires, but, according to Rachid, the provincial government of Gerardo Morales denies the possibility.

Sala at the beginning of her imprisonment was in the Alto Comedero Women's Prison, but since 2017 she has been serving her sentence under house arrest, after the Inter-American Court of Human Rights issued a ruling to that effect and which was ordered by the Supreme Court of Justice.
