The two officials discussed several issues of mutual interest, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said.

Last Thursday, representatives of the nations gathered in Samarkand for the Fourth Ministerial Conference of Afghanistan’s Neighboring Countries recognized in a final declaration of the event, the threat to regional peace posed by the presence of terrorist groups in that nation.

Foreign ministers and senior officers from China, Iran, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, described the security situation in the neighboring state as serious.

They also reassured their commitment to improve cooperation in the fight against terrorism and for security among neighboring countries, as well as to develop a united front against the scourge.
