Iranian President to Pay an official visit to Syria

Damascus, Apr 29 (RHC) Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi will arrive in Syria next Wednesday, in the first visit by a Persian leader to this nation since 2010, diplomatic sources told the local newspaper Al-Watan.

According to the sources, the president’s visit will last two days and he will hold official talks with his Syrian counterpart, Bashar Al-Assad, on strengthening strategic cooperation between the two countries, especially in the economic field.

During Raisi’s stay, several agreements and memorandums of understanding will be signed to boost economic cooperation between the two countries.

Iran is an ally of Syria and has been offering military and economic support since the beginning of the war against this nation in 2011. (Source: Prensa Latina)
