Buenos Aires, Aug 10 (RHC) Argentine Economy Minister and presidential pre-candidate of the Union for the Homeland -UP-, Sergio Massa, warned Wednesday that the opposition only offers adjustments, repression and cuts for retirees and workers.

In declarations to Telefe channel, the incumbent pointed out that the representatives of Juntos por el Cambio, Patricia Bullrich and Horacio Rodríguez, and that of the ultra-right-wing La Libertad Avanza, Javier Milei, represent the same thing and will harm the most vulnerable.

Furthermore, he criticized the refusal of these formations to allow the holding of sessions in the Congress of the Nation to deal with issues of interest for the population and the development of this country.

For that reason, today we cannot collect five billion dollars or know who are the Argentines who have undeclared accounts abroad, he said.

On the other hand, he recalled that this nation is facing two serious problems: the debt contracted by former President Mauricio Macri with the International Monetary Fund and the worst drought in the last 100 years.

In this context, he expressed his concern for the opposition proposals based on devaluations, higher indebtedness and adjustments, actions that in the past "generated the breaking of all contracts, death and repression".

In response to a question about the role that Vice-President Cristina Fernández would have in an eventual government of his, he explained that the former head of state "chose a role of advisor and of looking at politics without an institutional place".

"The voice of a former president with so many years in power must be heard", he asserted. (Source: Prensa Latina).
