Havana, Oct 1, (RHC) China celebrates today its National Day and the 74th anniversary of the creation of the People's Republic under the leadership of Mao Zedong, focused on the pursuit of great national revitalization.
To commemorate the event, public places and residential buildings have placed flags and other allegorical decorations.
Earlier, Chinese President Xi Jinping and other Chinese leaders paid tribute to the martyrs of the Asian giant at the monument dedicated to them in Tiananmen Square, the political center of the capital.
In addition, the president offered a banquet at which he reviewed China's successes as well as the challenges it faces.
Before the diplomatic corps accredited here and other senior government and Communist Party officials, Xi advocated a new concept of national development that would allow the country's modernization and fulfill the goal of great revitalization of the nation.
He warned of the challenges facing the Asian giant in an international context of intense transformations.
"We must prevent major risks, promote high-level outward opening, deepen reform, promote the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative and forge a more resilient economy," he stressed.
Xi urged increasing employment, consolidating the fight against poverty and solving other problems of concern to the people.
"We contemplate promising horizons, unity is strength and trust is worth more than gold, we must raise our spirits to overcome difficulties and move forward together towards the great goal of building a powerful country and the revitalization of the nation," he said.
The president insisted on implementing the guideline of one country two systems and in this regard, supporting Hong Kong and Macao in developing their economy.
In addition, he stressed the adherence to the principle of One China and in this regard, he stressed that the reunification of the country is the greatest aspiration of the people: "it is a historical necessity and no force can stop it".
Xi Jinping assured that in these 74 years China has gone from being a poor country to a well-off country in all aspects and that it is pursuing modernization.
According to him, the Chinese economy shows "good growth momentum" and the situation of society remains stable in general.
