Israeli hits on solar panels is nothing new.   These are file photos from May 2021, when occupation forces attacked solar panels in Gaza City.  

Gaza City, November 4 (RHC)-- Israeli forces have been targeting solar panels and generators that Gaza residents have relied on since Israel blocked off all power and fuel supplies to the besieged territory weeks ago.

“With the latest air strikes, the Israeli forces have been targeting solar panels, generators,” Hind Khoudary, a journalist based in Gaza City, told Al Jazeera.  “I saw a couple of targets [being hit] with my own eyes – [Israeli forces] only targeting the solar panels that are stationed on rooftops of buildings,” she said.

“This is the only way Palestinians in the Gaza Strip could have any source of electricity. They’re charging their phones, they’re trying to connect to the world.”

At least 9,227 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7 as Israel’s heavy bombardment of Gaza intensifies, targeting schools, shelters, hospital areas and ambulances.
