Caracas, March 16 (RHC)-- In the Poliedro of Caracas, the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) ratified President Nicolás Maduro as its candidate for the presidential elections of July 28.

The Vice President of the Government Party, Diosdado Cabello, intervened in the plenary, in which several representatives of the last five generations that have lived the transformations in Venezuela since the arrival of Commander Hugo Chávez to power participated as speakers.

Each speaker exalted the qualities of President Maduro for which he is considered the PSUV candidate for the Presidency of Venezuela.

Cabello recalled that millions of grassroots militants participated in the street, community and Bolívar-Chávez Battle Units (UBCh) assemblies throughout the country to propose and ratify the current President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, as their candidate for the July 28 elections.

President Maduro has managed to maintain peace and unity in the country, two important reasons to be elected candidate, considered Cabello.

Cabello ratified to the audience the will of the bases to propose President Nicolás Maduro as the candidate of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela and of the Bolivarian Revolution for the future presidential election.

He expressed that the Head of State has managed to maintain peace in the country by doing politics, defeating the oligarchy many times, setting an example, applying his leadership.

Cabello stated that President Maduro has managed to maintain the unity of the revolutionary forces by making high politics.  He has opened the doors to the PSUV, to the social movements, has worked with all the sectors of the country and has maintained unity.

We invite those who have left to return to the Bolivarian Revolution.  This is Hugo Chavez' project, he recalled.  He added that it was an idea of Nicolás Maduro, during the COVID-19 pandemic, to bring vaccines and create the Local Supply and Production Committees (CLAP) to provide food to the population. No one was asked which political party he belonged to.

He considered that in spite of the sanctions, he has vertebrated a program of development and take-off of the economy, now projected through the Seven Transformations (7T).

Madruo has leadership over the armed forces, the civil-military patriotic union. He has promoted a sovereign foreign policy and has tirelessly promoted national dialogue, he recalled.  He has achieved a form of collective leadership, leadership that must continue to multiply in all the structures of participation.

Through various mechanisms, he maintains a permanent connection with the Venezuelan people and their struggles. The 1x10 system of good governance came out of that will, he appreciated.

He valued that this has allowed the PSUV to project itself to the future and has not been left behind, as happens to those parties that do not listen to the people.

After his words, the delegates to the PSUV Congress voted in favor of Maduro's proposal as presidential candidate and Diosdado Cabello presented him with the PSUV banner.

This Saturday, the plenary of the V Congress of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and the IV Congress of the Party's Youth were held to proclaim the candidate of the revolutionary force.  Since early in the morning, the delegates of the territorial delegates of the country came to the Poliedro of Caracas to attend this important event.
