Washington, June 5 (RHC)-- U.S. President Joe Biden says there is "every reason" to conclude Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel is prolonging the savage military offensive in the besieged Gaza Strip due to his own political considerations.  Of course, Biden didn't exactly say "savage" or "military offensive" -- but that's what it is!

Asked if he believed Netanyahu was dragging out the war for political self-preservation, the U.S. president said: "There is every reason for people to draw that conclusion.”

Biden made the comment in an interview with Time magazine on May 28, when he also denied that the regime’s forces were committing war crimes in the besieged enclave.  Asked whether he’s seen evidence of Israel’s war crimes during the nearly eight-month war against Palestinians, Biden replied: “The answer is it’s uncertain."

He claimed that Tel Aviv was investigating if its forces had committed war crimes.  Biden also rejected that the regime is using starvation of civilians as a method of warfare, but he admitted that "the Palestinians have suffered greatly, for lack of food, water, medicine, etc.  And a lot of innocent people have been killed.”

The 81-year-old U.S. leader made the remarks not long after the International Criminal Court's prosecutor requested arrest warrants for Netanyahu and his military chief over committing war crimes in Gaza.  “The ICC is something that we don’t recognize,” Biden told the magazine.

Israel launched its air and ground offensive in the Gaza Strip last October, after it was caught off guard by Hamas unprecedented operation against the occupied territories.

The regime's war machine, into which Biden poured more than 10,000 tonnes of weapons, has so far claimed the lives of more than 36,550 people, according to Gaza health, who say thousands more bodies are buried under rubble.
