Caracas, August 10 (RHC)-- The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, appeared this Friday before the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) to deliver the pertinent electoral elements to clarify the events related to the presidential elections of July 28th.

After reading the minutes of the appearance, the president answered the questions of the magistrates and the president of the Electoral Chamber of the TSJ, Caryslia Rodríguez, and provided the requested documents.

In dialogue with the media upon leaving the TSJ, the president assured that he attended the judicial summons, I have stripped myself of the figure of head of State and of any investiture. I am only the citizen Nicolás Maduro Moros, who attended the summons, for peace, for stability and the right to tranquility,” he stressed.

“I have answered the interrogation and I have not shied away from any question that the magistrates have asked me. Nine out of 10 candidates have complied with the law, only one refused to show his face, a candidate who is in hiding, who orders people to kill, calls for violence, but does not show his face to a country. I have shown my face and I will always do so,” he said.

Likewise, the re-elected president stressed that, “the electoral power called the 10 candidates to sign the agreement to respect the results. This man does not make his own decisions, he is a puppet tied by the terrorist Machado, who called him and told him not to go.”

The hearings began last Wednesday and 38 political parties that were represented by candidates during the electoral contest appeared in them, and most of them requested the minutes requested by the high judicial authority.

Likewise, the president stressed that “the people are in the streets so that institutions and peace are respected. Show your face before justice, you cannot continue committing crimes in the country.”

The president was accompanied by the vice presidents of different areas, Vice President Delcy Rodríguez, and other government figures.

On July 31, the president introduced a contentious appeal to the Electoral Chamber of the TSJ aimed at investigating what happened during the presidential election process of July 28.

In the coming days, it is expected that after the investigations carried out, the verdict of the Electoral Chamber of the TSJ will be known.
