Caracas, August 22 (RHC)-- The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, attended this Wednesday, August 21st, the meeting with the Diplomatic Corps.  He described as a “hybrid war” the coup attempts against the government of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, by the Venezuelan ultra-right.

The Venezuelan attorney general stated that they used mechanisms such as “Lawfare”, as well as messages of hatred and discrimination against the ruling political party, including attempts at judicial war, military and police uprisings.

“Within the hybrid war, there is talk of using common criminals for actions that instrumentalize the ultimate objective, which in this case was to try to overthrow a legitimately constituted government.”

Tarek William Saab emphasized that fascism seeks the extermination of a human group and “it is what they want to do with the Chavista group.”

He pointed out that social networks have impacted the human mind to turn good into bad, the unjust into just, as seen in Venezuela during this last time, referring to the violent acts that occurred in the country during and after the presidential elections of July 28th.  The attorney general said that the former opposition candidate, Edmundo González Urrutia, and his ally María Corina Machado have waged a hate campaign through these media.

Tarek William Saab also reported that a recognized hacker gave details about the computer attack, which aimed at a blackout of the electronic data system of the National Electoral Council (CNE) the night of the election.

“There are details of how he hacked the Venezuelan electoral system, but what he could not achieve was the goal, which was an information blackout in the electronic data system, they slowed it down, attacked it, but it wasn't just that, but shut it down completely,” he added.

The prosecutor Tarek William Saab showed to the diplomatic corps accredited in Venezuela, all the evidence collected by the Public Ministry including the photographs of the victims of Venezuelan fascism, which tried to destroy the legitimate government of the country.
