Caracas, September 17 (RHC)-- The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, stated this Monday that "sanctions increase the anti-imperialist consciousness and the fighting morale of the people."

"Sanctions, aggressions, threats, put countries and peoples to the test.  And people have two options: either they submit, let themselves be colonized and ignored, or they react and look to the future to do their own things," said Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro during his television program "Maduro+"

In what he described as an emerging multipolar world, Maduro stressed that the "illegal and immoral" actions of some Western governments, far from instilling fear, have strengthened anti-imperialist consciousness in the country.

In contrast, the president denounced that the strategy of "maximum pressure," promoted by the United States, is determined to include the component of psychological blackmail based on social networks with which they seek to generate anxiety in the nation, its institutions and leaders.

He recalled that an international event was held in Caracas last week during the World Congress against Fascism, where the Great Anti-Fascist International was founded.  "We better understand the battle that Latin America and the Caribbean are waging against fascism and neo-fascism," Maduro emphasized.

Regarding the apparent new attempt on the life of U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump, the Venezuelan president warned about the "serious state of health" of the society and the political system of that country.

"If the people of the United States do not take control of the situation, very serious circumstances could arise," he warned.  President Maduro ratified his absolute repudiation of this assassination attempt: "Let the truth be known, who is in charge and who is moving the pieces.  I wish him health and a long life.  It is not the attack, it is not the coup d'état, the stalking, the violence that must dominate, but the respect for life and peace."

Regarding other international issues, Maduro referred to the war in Ukraine, assuring that "Russia will end the outbreaks of Nazism in Ukraine, and peace will prevail in those two nations."

Finally, the Venezuelan president requested logistical support for the projects approved on August 28, in order to accelerate their development.  He also stressed that there is no country in Latin America that can match the level of constitutional democracy practiced in Venezuela.
