Beirut, October 22 RHC)-- Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement has carried out a rocket strike against an Israeli military intelligence base in the suburbs of the city of Tel Aviv in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The movement announced carrying out the retaliatory strike against the Glilot Base belonging to the regime’s military intelligence Unit 8200 on Monday. It said it conducted the operation “in support of our steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in support of their valiant and honorable resistance and in defense of Lebanon and its people.”
The strike came “as part of the Khaybar series of operations and in response to the aggressions and massacres carried out by the Zionist enemy,” the group said.
The group identified the codename for the operation as “we are at your service O Nasrallah,” referring to its Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, who was martyred in Israeli attacks against Lebanon’s capital Beirut in late September.
The Israeli regime escalated its deadly attacks against Lebanon last October, prompting Hezbollah to start responding by launching hundreds of retaliatory strikes against sensitive targets lying across the occupied territories and targeting the Israeli forces attempting to advance on southern Lebanese areas.
Also on Monday, Hezbollah’s fighters bombed the illegal settlements of Karmiel and Maalot-Tarshiha as well as the Israeli military’s 100 Camp that lies north of the Ayelet Hashahar area with rocket salvos.
Earlier, Israeli media outlets reported that hundreds of workers at the port of Haifa in the occupied territories had received text messages in Arabic stating that they worked in a location that could be targeted by the resistance’s missiles.
In southern Lebanon, resistance fighters fired artillery shells against Israeli troops advancing at the Kfar Kila crossing, struck a gathering of the troops near the town of Aita al-Shaab with a barrage of rockets, and carried out three retaliatory strikes against a group of the forces on the eastern outskirts of the town of Markaba.
The movement also directed rocket barrages against the regime’s Yoav and Keila Barracks in Syria’s Tel Aviv-occupied Golan Heights.
Earlier in the day, the regime attacked the suburb of Dahiyeh in the south of Beirut and several areas in the country’s east with airstrikes following overnight raids against the same suburban neighborhood and other locations across the country that killed at least 16 people and injured 59 others.
As many as 2,483 Lebanese civilians have been killed and 11,628 others wounded as a result of the regime’s intensified attacks against the country.
