Quito, January 29 (RHC)-- The National Coalition for the Homeland of Ecuador has rejected in a statement the presence in Ecuador of the Venezuelan citizen Edmundo González Urrutia, former candidate of the extreme right for the elections of July 28 in Venezuela.

“The presence of figures such as González Urrutia, whose speeches and actions have been pointed out as generating division and destabilization in the region, contravenes these basic principles and constitutes a threat to the stability of our country and the region in general,” the statement highlighted.

It also noted that “his recent actions and statements not only represent a threat to the fundamental principles of international law, but also undermine the values that underpin the sovereignty and stability of nations in Latin America.”

Likewise, the organization warned about interference that endangers and brings serious consequences “for the social and political order of a nation.”

“International law is based on mutual respect between States, non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries and the promotion of peaceful coexistence,” the entity highlighted.

In this regard, he argued that “Ecuador, as a sovereign State, has the responsibility to protect its integrity and ensure that its territory is not used as a platform to promote destabilizing agendas that put the well-being of the peoples of the region at risk.”

Meanwhile, he called on the authorities to evaluate the situation and take the actions required to preserve peace in the region.

“The new international order based on rules recognizes the legitimate and constitutional power of the winner of the elections of July 28, 2024, Mr. Nicolás Maduro Moros, constitutional president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,” the statement highlighted.
