Caracas, January 27 (RHC-teleSUR) -- Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro addressed the nation Monday night reiterating the government’s commitment to overcome the international right wing’s economic and political destabilization plans.

The president stated that key social sector leaders and security forces will be invited to attend a meeting Tuesday to develop a strategy to crack down on speculative pricing, hoarding and other forms of economic warfare.

Representatives from communal councils, youth groups, grassroots activists from his socialist party – the PSUV – and members of various state security and military bodies will be invited, Maduro said.

He continued by pledging his administration will deepen its efforts to tackle food scarcity, and ensure basic consumer products are made available to ordinary Venezuelans. The government says scarcity and inflation are being fuelled by attempts by the opposition and business leaders to destabilize the country.

The South American leader also remarked that government officials, sectors of civil society and the armed forces will meet tomorrow to discuss aspects of this plan.

Maduro said that this year the government will build 400,000 new homes part of the nationwide Great Housing Mission. He added that 734,000 infrastructure related jobs will also be create this year.

Maduro expressed his gratitude for the Venezuelan people and their efforts to overcome this economic coup. “I give thanks to the Venezuelan people for their permanent support before the international right’s attacks against the Revolution and their democratically elected president,” he said.

Maduro also expressed his condolences with the people of Saudi Arabia for the loss of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz. “Our relationship goes far beyond politics, it is about dialogue between nations,” he emphasized.
