Bogotá, January 28 (RHC-PL) -- The head of the Colombian government's negotiating team, Humberto de la Calle, and High Commissioner for Peace Sergio Jaramillo will talk with Colombian intellectuals about the peace process, starting Friday in Cartagena, media sources have reported.

Both politicians, facilitators of the negotiations with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia- People's Army (FARC-EP), will take advantage of the event 'Hay Festival' to attend talks with writers from the Andean country, with the objective of explaining the progress and challenges of the peace efforts.

Additionally, De la Calle and Jaramillo will present their opinions about issues as the role of youths in building a scene without military hostilities, said the newspaper El Universal.

According to the program, Nobel Peace Price winner Jody Williams, acknowledged by her efforts to put an end to violence in the world, will join the talks on February 1st. Together with another winner of the same prize, Rigoberta Menchu, the U.S. teacher and activist is focusing her efforts on making visible the women that are struggling to change the world in fields as justice, equality and the end of war.

Another of the negotiators' priorities is the meeting with children from Cartagena de Indias, as part of the so-called pedagogy of peace, an initiative to foster the transformation of violent environments and promotion of national reconciliation.
